June Menu

June... Summer is almost here.  Let's start the fun!

Please choose 6 or 12 items from the choices below. Be adventurous and choose 6 or 12 different things, or select several of the same dish if it really appeals to you. For logistics reasons, you can choose the same item up to two times.

Bombay Tandoori Steak ~ $5 supplemental charge
In this dish, a marinade made with yogurt and cream, Indian spices and a touch of garlic, ginger and chilis, tenderizes and infuses tri-tip steaks. Perfect for the grill. Easy to adjust the spicy heat to make it more family friendly.
(low carb - easy to split - easy at home - moderately kid friendly)

Chicken Scallopini with Fresh Garden Herbs
When you taste the fresh parsley and tarragon on these tender chicken breasts you won't believe this came from your freezer. A Dinner by the Dozen favorite. Since we cut the breasts in half horizontally they cook in  a flash - sauté or grill.
(low carb - easy to split - easy at home - kid friendly)

Honey-Chili Drumsticks
Smokey in a slightly sweet and tangy way, these chicken legs are truly outstanding. So much, that the original version of the recipe appeared in Gourmet magazine. Family friendly dish (not too spicy). Bake or grill.
(low carb - easy to split - easy at home - kid friendly)

Java BBQ Pork Loin
This wonderful recipe calls for a marinade, a dry rub with just a touch of coffee and a flavored BBQ sauce. The result is a delicious dish that tastes like it took forever to make, but in reality, it's fast and easy to grill.
(possible to split - easy at home - kid friendly)

Java BBQ Chicken Drumsticks
Same marinade, dry rub and BBQ sauce as above, but with chicken drumsticks instead of pork loin. Grill.
(easy to split - easy at home - kid friendly)

Broccoli Cheddar Quiche
One of our stand-bys, perfect for brunch, lunch or anytime.  Broccoli and mild cheddar cheese are cooked in an egg and cream custard inside a deep-dish pie crust. We use real eggs unless you tell us you prefer egg substitute. Bakes in the oven.

(vegetarian - cannot be split - easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

Provence Pork Chops
Tender boneless pork chops get drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, seasonings and herbs de Provence. A great dish for the grill.
(low carb - easy to split - easy at home - moderately kid friendly)

Grilled Salmon with Charmoula ~ $5 supplemental charge
An amazing Moroccan-inspired wet rub turns the salmon almost red while infusing it with the flavors of cilantro, cumin, garlic and paprika. We served this at a party and everybody loved it! In fact, it's one of my favorite rubs for salmon. Perfect for the grill.
(low carb - a bit harder to split - easy at home)

Grilled WILD salmon with Charmoula ~ $7 supplemental charge
Same as above but with wild salmon instead of farm-raised: you get more omega 3 and the same delicous sauce.
(low carb - a bit harder to split - easy at home)

Peach Cobbler
Have dessert and just enjoy life! Sweet peaches are covered with a streusel topping with optional nuts. So delicious and easy. Bakes in the oven.
(vegetarian - cannot be split - easy at home - very kid friendly!)

Sicilian Chicken
A perfect dish to show off with family and friends. Tastes amazing, yet it's very easy to prepare at home! Fresh mint from my own herb garden, garlic and lots of lemon flavor bone-in chicken pieces, which get served with a white wine sauce and sprinkled with almonds. Simmers on the stovetop and it's worth the splatters!
(low carb w/o sauce - difficult to split - a bit harder at home - kid friendly)

The Ultimate Bacon Cheddar Burgers
These burgers are truly outstanding. Juicy and tender, these burgers are just great: very moist, cheesy and full of bacon flavor. We provide the buns, you provide the grill.
(low carb w/o buns - possible to split - relatively easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

The Ultimate Bacon Blue Cheese Burgers
Same as above but with blue cheese. If you like blue cheese you must try them!
(low carb w/o buns - possible to split - relatively easy at home - full meal)

Corn & Cheese Empanadas
These vegetarian empanadas (turnovers) are typical of the northern part of Argentina where they are called "empanadas de humita". They make a great meal, and the leftovers reheat well for lunch at the office/school the next day. Since the dough is imported and difficult to find, we are offering this dish on a first come-first served basis. We regret the inconvenience but sign up for them early so you can get them! Cooks in the oven.
(vegetarian - cannot be split - easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

Orange Broccoli and Beef Stir Fry
This quick stir fry will win your family over and have the kids eating their veggies. Tender pieces of beef get stir fried with an orange - teriyaki sauce that glazes the meat and veggies. Serve with white rice (included) and dinner is served.
(moderately easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

Spinach-Stuffed Chicken with Rosti Potatoes ~ $3 supplemental charge
This is one showy meal! Four large chicken breasts enrobe lemony spinach and parmesan cheese, and get served with Rosti potatoes, the Swiss version of potato latkes or hash browns. Grill the chicken, and use a skillet for the potatoes.
(moderately easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

Spring Quiche
Ham, peas, mint, Swiss and cheddar cheeses paired with an
egg and cream custard inside a deep-dish pie crust. Your choice of real eggs (you crack 'em) or egg substitute for lower cholesterol (we'll assume you are going with real eggs unless you tell us otherwise). Bakes in the oven.
(vegetarian without ham - cannot be split - relatively easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

Southwestern Spaghetti
An easy and wholesome meal. Tomato sauce, black beans, cheese and corn served on top of spaghetti pasta. Easy and great, if you can boil water you can prepare this meal. Cooks on your stovetop.
(vegetarian - easy split - very easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

Southwestern Spaghetti w/ Chorizo
Same as above but made spicier with the addition of chorizo sausage crumbles.
(easy split - very easy at home - kid friendly - full meal)

Traci's Chicken Pot Pie ~ $22.50 ($23.29 w/tax)
Lots of our customers are always asking us when will we have the pot pie in the menu again. So to make it easier and keep everybody happy, we are offering it pre-assembled and ready to go. After the arrival of each of my kids, my neighbor, and friend, Traci delivered a chicken pot pie to our doors.  It was so good it almost made up for the sleepless nights. This recipe is based on hers. Flaky pastry tops kid-friendly veggies and chicken in a creamy sauce. Cooks on the stovetop and oven. To make it healthier, we have omitted the bottom crust, but you won't miss it.

Humitas ~ $22.50 ($23.29 w/tax)
Usually humitas are cooked like tamales, enrobed in corn husks. In this version, we took the hard work and simplified the dish to cook it in a casserole dish instead. Pureed corn gets mixed with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, green chiles, milk, cheese and spices. A wonderful side dish or vegetarian entree.
(vegetarian - easy at home - kid friendly - light meal)

Mexican Tamales ~ $22.50/dozen ($23.29 w/tax)
For those of you who like your tamales wrapped, we are offering authentic Mexican Tamales, by the dozen. Choose between green chile and chicken, green chile and cheese or red chile with pork. It's OK to mix and match as long as you get at least 6 of each kind. Not vegetarian since they have chicken stock.
(easy at home - kid friendly - light meal)
